Workplace Bulletins: August 2020
Birthdays & Office Anniversaries
We had the opportunity to celebrate a couple of birthdays in the past month: Sarah (August 25th), Todd (August 11th), and Jamey (July 28th). In addition, Jamey’s second office anniversary is today, September 1st. If you remember from our past posts, we celebrated Jamey’s with an ice cream cake and Todd’s with some snow cones. There is no such thing as too much ice cream 😉
Peek into the Office 👀
A lot has happened this month. We’ve kick started the MTS Laundry Project and Building 104, and 3H went through its 65% QAQC phase last week. Not to mention, the Building 16 project will soon pick up again.
Jamey and Jim took off on the road last Wednesday and Thursday to Dallas just missing Hurricane Laura on the way back. There they had to wear a sterilized “bunny suit” to complete a successful site visit for a potential Pharmacy Project. According to Jamey, although the campus seemed to be bigger, the Dallas VA still had the “same flavor” as the VA here in Arkansas.
Highlights of the Month
Jim just finished sending his daughter off to college to study Mechanical Engineering. He hopes she stays safe during her studies there. His family also recently got a dog whom they named Indy in tribute to his wife’s affection to Indiana Jones. He brought some of his famous homemade Jambalaya yesterday as well.
Alana started her IPAL master’s program at BAC and attended her orientation week called “The Intensive” on August 17th. Although it was a remote experience due to the COVID crisis, she produced some incredible work including but not limited to a collage inspired by Louis Khan, a site analysis, a hybrid detail, and a site model. Meanwhile, Todd is planning to test for his AutoCAD certification for Revit and CAD soon. Our team never fails to amaze!
Don't forget to check in with us every week for updates!
